Our Story

Milagro Danza Folklórica, established in 2023 by David Cohen-Ortega, represents the culmination of an inspiring journey. Our roots trace back to July 5th, 2013, when an original dance group was first founded. David was an active member of this founding team.

With a fresh vision and unwavering dedication, David assumed leadership of the original group. It was on the 10th anniversary of our formation that David, with a bold and transformative spirit, not only changed the group's name but also reshaped its mission. This pivotal moment marked the birth of Milagro Danza Folklórica as we know it today.

Milagro Danza Folklórica is a non-profit dance company nestled in the heart of Southwest Detroit. We seamlessly blend the beauty of traditional ballet folklórico with contemporary dance, creating a unique and captivating fusion of styles.

Our overarching vision is to serve as a dance production company that actively collaborates with the community while empowering the youth. Through mesmerizing performances, we pay homage to Mexico's rich cultural heritage.
